Tualatin Valley Youth Football League
Coaching Contract - 2009

I do hereby contract with the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League to abide by all the following items:

  1. The Head Coach must be age 21 or over.
  2. All assistant coaches are appointed by the head coach of each team and must be at least 18 years of age. 
  3. Coach trainees will be allowed if age 16 or over, with the consent of the individual Association President.  These persons must conduct all coaching under the eyes of at least one of the Assistant Coaches, and may not handle children independently (i.e. alone).
  4. The Head Coach is responsible for the actions of the assistant coaches, parents and team players, prior to, during and after each game, practice and league event.
  5. If a Head Coach or one of his assistants is penalized for unsportsman-like behavior, the Head Coach will be put on probation for the remainder of the season and is subject to further action taken by the Division Presidents and/or the Board of Directors per the TVYFL bylaws that could result in the Head Coach being relieved of all coaching duties.
  6. A Head Coach or assistant coach can be removed from their duties if the Board of Directors agrees in a majority vote that said coach’s actions are detrimental to the welfare of Tualatin Valley Youth Football League.
  7. Each Head Coach is required to maintain accurate records of all player rosters, equipment issues, medical release, grade verification, parent/guardian information such as street address, phone numbers, general comments and emergency information.  This book will be made available at weigh-in 30 minutes before game time to the weigh master from the opposing team.
  8. At least one member of the coaching staff must carry verification of First Aid certification.
  9. If an injured player cannot get up on his/her own power, emergency medical aid will be summoned.
  10. If a grievance is filed, it must be filed by the Association President and Emailed or faxed to a Division President by the Monday following the game in question. TVYFL Executive Board will decide appropriate action to be taken.
  11. Team rosters submitted to the league at verification will be final and no additions will be accepted.  Failure to comply with this rule will result in a forfeiture of all games said player participated in, and disciplinary action to head coach of said team by Tualatin Valley Youth Football.
  12. The bench area is reserved for players, coaches and authorized team personnel only.  Sidelines are specifically for medical personnel, and chain crews only. The team box is between the 30-yard lines and a minimum of 5 yards from the playing surface.

  14. Foul and abusive language used by any coach or player will not be tolerated.
  15. Each eligible player is to be played a minimum of 10 plays regardless of team size or grade level. 
  16. If a player is ineligible to play in a game due to injury or disciplinary reasons, they must be on a list that is given to the weigh master at weigh-in.  If a player appears on that list they must not play in the game at all.
  17. Intentional running up of scores will not be tolerated.  If a team beats the opponent by more than 35 points, both coaches must submit their account of the game in writing to a Division President of Tualatin Valley Youth Football by Monday after the game in question. 
  18. The head coach is responsible for knowledge of the rules as defined by the National Federation of High Schools and the Tualatin Valley Youth Football bylaws.
  19. The coaches will commit to all training sessions, meetings and clinics specified by the Board of Directors.
  20. The head coach is responsible for proper use of equipment.  The equipment shall consist of game jerseys, pants, associated pads, shoulder pads, girdle pads, and mouthpieces with NOCSAE approved helmet.
  21. Coaches do not make league policies, however they are expected to follow all rules and regulations. 
  22. The Tualatin Valley Youth Football League agrees to provide a schedule of games and officials for the games.
  23. Coaches must submit their names for a police records check. Any applicant for a coaching position found to have been convicted of a felony involving moral turpitude would be barred from coaching.

I hereby agree to abide by the above items and follow the decisions of the Board of Directors.  As head coach I agree to uphold the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League bylaws. I will foster among the members of the team, the ideal of good sportsmanship, citizenship, and character and provide a positive example for others. My signature below indicates that I have read, understand, and agree to this contract as well as authorize a criminal background check required by TVYFL to coach youth football.

By submitting this form to WYF and TVYFL, you are signing that this information is accurate and you agree to the contract above.  You also agree to the use of this information for a Background Check that will be conducted for every coaching application.
